Drew is 7 and Sports!

Luke at his Hart Middle School, Winter Choir concert! I waved so big when Luke came out and then the choir teacher turned around and explained how middle school is a time to prepare the kids for high school so, if they didn't wave back it was because they were instructed not too. We are not in elementary anymore! Later I told Luke he passed the test because I was seeing if he would wave back or not. 😜  (Luke is in the last row with a bright, blue short-sleeve shirt on)
DREW IS 7!!!
I was a little behind on planning for a party this year. Drew's birthday was over MLK weekend and his close buddies ended up being out of town that weekend so we celebrated big as a fam!

Luke's birthday message to Drew: Drew is fun to play with, loves to laugh and make others laugh, works hard, and tries new things. I love playing video games, playing sports and spending quality time with him. I am proud of Drew for being who he is. I hope that Drew achieves his greatest dreams when he grows up and achieve them. I love playing with him and he is always ready.

Ellie's birthday message to Drew: Drew is funny, loving, caring, kind, and cute. I love that he can always put a smile on my face and he supports me. He is the best little brother. I enjoy playing imaginary games like doggy, 8 year old, baseball broken arm, Encanto, and Harry Potter with him. I am proud of Drew for building and trying new things like building Legos, like new school stuff, Magnatiles. He also works so hard to accomplish anything he works towards. Drew is funny all the time and very loveable and cute! Every time I look at him I want to eat him...His whole face, his little fingers, and his whole body. He is so cute! I hope that he continues to be the kind, loving and funny person that he is. I want him to keep working hard on accomplishing his goals and dreams. THAT kid can make you smile! I love you, Drew! With Love and Laughter, Elle.

Dad's birthday message to Drew: His kindness is contagious. His smile brightens anyone's day. Because he makes great choices, he can live with great excitement. I love cuddling, playing games and sports with him, I love reading his Goldbug.

Drew we are so, so grateful that you are ours! You are just a slappy happy almost all the time and our go with the flow, content kiddo. You will say to me, " Mom, I don't want to be the grump." You love spending time with your family and your brother and sister are your best buds. This year you really started making your own good friends, instead of tagging along with your siblings and their friends. Your favorite person to have over is Sylvan. This year, you figured out Legos, and you can spend hours (literally hours) building them all by yourself. You are so brave and you have come out of your shell with playing team sports. You call for the basketball every time you are down the court, "Here, here!"  You love to tackle and will find any excuse to dive or roll for the ball. You hum songs all the time. When I hum, you notice and ask me what song I'm humming. You are such a reader and writer! You love to read nonfiction books about animals. You love to write lists for the day...A list of ideas of what you can do for the day. You still have to be reminded to brush your teeth every. single. day. Each day you keep growing into your own person and have expressed that want to play both lacrosse and football. You love to laugh and be tickled. We love YOU, Drew!

Elle has been busy making friendship bracelets for EVERYONE.
Pillowcase football!

Uncle Chaddy and Harlow came over to celebrate!

Uncle Tom and Aunt Cathy came over too! Drew you are so loved and one lucky kiddo!

MLK Day with Dad! The kiddos had so much fun completing some MLK Day activities through their school and then ice skating!

A pic sent from a friend of Luke and Noah...We are so excited for baseball season and all things summer!
Drew is playing basketball this year! He has basketball practice on Monday nights and games on Saturdays. He is a rock star dribbler and shooter and he loves his Rams team. Go, #45!
Ellie is also playing ball again this year and she is loving it!! Ellie and all of her girls. All of them have brothers on Drew's team.
Elle has grown so much in basketball and is so scrappy out there! We love her Jayhawks team!
Go, # 34!!

Luke is starring on the Warriors this year. GO, 14!! All of the kids are rocking it and we just love our Saturday mornings! Getting up at 630 to start our day is totally worth it!

After breaking his leg, Luke is back at playing the catcher position again! We are so, so proud of this kiddo. The pain, the long days of limited mobility, the wheelchair, the disability bus, the indoor recesses, the 6 am physical therapy before school, the sitting on the sidelines, the waiting and working hard to get back to it. You did it, buddy, and no one else could really do it for you. YOU got yourself healthy and YOU got yourself both mentally and physically fit. YOU can do hard things, even when it hurts and feel impossible. Take this hard lesson with you throughout your life.

We ALL have been loving basketball/indoor baseball season! Especially during these long winter months. We start at 8 am with Luke 's team, then Drew's at 10:30 and Ellie's at 12:30. Luke's baseball game starts at 11 so Ben and I have been splitting time between baseball and basketball. The great thing is that all the sports are done and we are home by 2 to have the rest of the day.

Skating downtown Rochester and clearing it to play hockey!

One afternoon I pulled up from work and saw these 2 helpers out shoveling the driveway for us. 💛
Aunt Cathy gave a Drew a time traveler necklace that took them back in time to Drew's bday to go on a shopping spree together!
We love you, Aunt Cathy!
A few weekends later, Drew's buddies were all around so of course we had to celebrate! Drew, your birthday lasted for like 2 weeks around here! You are so lucky and we love you so much! After all the Saturday games, we partied!
Since we already had a birthday cake, Elle used her new baking skills to make homemade chocolate cupcakes with homemade whippy frosting...Oh my goodness, they were so, SO good! We learned that frosting becomes "whippy" when you add in cups of powdered sugar and it's so worth it!
Ellie you are always just so thoughtful and want to make everyone's day special. I love your heart. I love being your mom, baby girl.
Drew, Hailey, Sylvan, Steven, Wyatt, and Caleb.

Drew, you are such a good friend to everybody. We all love you so. so much.
Happy 7th birthday, Drew!
