Halloween 2022!

Carving pumpkins!
Drew washing and sorting the pumpkin seeds.
We are Halloween ready!
Ellie at her school Halloween parade.
BINGO!
Halloween bingo is our favorite pregame!

This year we have Bob the Builder, the Positivity Project, and a ninja.)

Fun facts about this years' costumes:
Bob the Builder: This costume has made a reappearance for Luke from many years ago. Luke wore the whole costume proudly to middle school on Halloween. The most special...Luke wore Great Grandpa Budd's toolbelt to complete the outfit. And his name was also Bob 💜

The Positivity Project: Ellie was inspired by her school character education program called the Positivity Project. Each week they study a different character trait strength. She made her costume by hand and made an index card for each of the 24 traits! She was featured with her costume in her principal's weekly email home!

The Ninja: Drew had picked out this entire costume himself WEEKS ago. When I asked him if we needed to go buy anything for his costume he was adamant that his costume was just perfect already. He had his costume folded in a separate drawer for weeks to make sure it was ready to go! He was proud that he put it together by himself!

And that my friends, pretty much sums each of them up at this point in their journey.
And the cutest Elmo and witch there ever was!
Cousins rule.

It started with rain but only for a few. It was so mild and warm!
Luke CHOSE to trick-or-treat with us this year! That was the best!!

These 2 were pretty quick!

That's a lot of candy!
Leaves for days over here!

Hometown Hustle Run and GO Cubs!

Papa, Gma, Uncle Freddy and Aunt Nae came in for a visit!

We had a fun weekend filled with baseball, soccer, flag football and a 5k/Color Run!

Getting ready for the Hometown Hustle!

The Hometown Hustle is our school district's biggest fundraiser! Here we are with some of our favorite McGregor teachers!! We love our school!!
Drew was a little nervous because he wasn't for sure he would know where to run. Drew and Elle ran the Mile Color Run and it didn't even cross my mind that Drew might feel uneasy about running a course he's never been on or even seen before.
But he got right on in there and they did it!!
Here they are coming up to the finish line! They busted it out and ran so hard! This race doesn't keep time and I didn't think about keeping track but they finished in like 5th/6th place! Ellie had a big smile on her face and was on a runner's high! Drew was so tired and I think he just tired to keep up with Ellie the whole time so he wouldn't get lost!! Oh, my mama heart.

Great job, Ellie and Drew!!! We are so very proud of you!!

Now it was their turn to cheer on Luke, Uncle Chad, and me in the 5k.
Luke ran the race with his soccer buddies Joey and Alex.
Go, Uncle Chaddy!
Here I go! Trying to keep up with that little kid next to me! 😁
Ben and Drew going to the next stop in the race...
Rounding the corner to the finish line!

Ellie jumped in to finish the race with me! SO thoughtful and special. Ellie, I love you.

This guy ran his 5K downtown Rochester and finished 20th out of 71 boys in his age group! His total time was 24:33 and his pace was 7:55. Great job, Luke!

I finished in 44th place out of 99 at 36:49 minutes with an 11:53 pace and I was ecstatic! (That may be slow for most but for me...I was like this is great!)

The Cubbies actually played the night before the race. Uncle Freddy took some great shots with his super cool and fancy camera and mad skills!

Ben and all of his "coaches". These guys crack me up. The guys love "coaching" with Ben and they all stand together in the dugout.

We love our family and our weekends!
