Easter 2023

Happy Easter, 2023!!
This year we had Mom and Stan over on that Saturday for Easter dinner, eggs and baseball. So grateful for our faith and family.

Easter Morning! He is risen!

Bonus pic: Luke is starting his own lawn business this summer. Here he is talking with our neighbor after our Easter egg hunt and asking if he is interested. Ben and I, totally not being helicopter parents, are snapping pics from the window. :) Luke is getting so big, old and mature. To see him using his communication skills with adults and doing brave things makes us so proud.

Spring Break: 3 Different States- MI, FL, SC, 3x the Memories!

This guy living his BEST life!! For Christmas, Papa and Gma surprised Luke with a spring break trip to Florida WITH his best buddy Joey! These boys were counting down the days since Cmas morning!

Things I learned about minors flying alone: The Delta app does not work for checking in minors, you must check them in at the counter. Boys for sure can travel just fine with a carry-on. Delta charges a fee each way for a minor but that allows for the adult dropping off and picking up to get a pass to go through security and wait at the gate with their minor. Also, adult can't actually leave the gate until the plane is in the air! (Just in case if they have to deplane.) When purchasing a ticket, you create a pin that the adult dropping and picking up uses along with their ID. The flight attendant gives them as many snacks and drinks at they'd like! Basically it all went so smooth, I highly recommend!

Joey's grandparents live like 20 minutes from Mom and Dad. So Matthew and Isaac flew too and their grandparents also met them at the airport. These 4 guys at 6 am...

Off they go!

Our turn was later that day! We sent this pic and had each of the kids guess where we were...Any guesses? (Layover on our way to Charleston, SC)
Dad and the boys Googling our clues trying to figure it out...

Uncle Tom, Aunt Cathy, Elle and Drew got it! LaGuardia, NY!
At our AWESOME hotel, thanks to Bing and Pat! The Mills House! Starting off right with happy hour!

We LOVE Charleston!
At the Battery...

East Bay connection. 💛

The first morning we took a carriage ride to learn more about the town.

" Shotgun" porches. They built them this way to help get a fresh breeze through the home especially on those hot days.
We walked 8 miles after the carriage ride,  crossing on the Arthur Ravenel Bridge from Charleston over to Mt. Pleasant.
Ate at Red's on the left of the canal!

Vaca.

Back in Charleston, we of course had to tour College of Charleston! Ben and his career centers. :)
This part of campus was filmed in The Notebook!

Back at our hotel for happy hour!

A little bar on the outside of the restaurant we at it. You pull down the chair and they serve you through the window!
The most yummy pizza EVER.
Catching up with our kiddos.

We spent a morning at Boone's Plantation!

(Also filmed in The Notebook!)

Out of all the most delicious meals, this brunch at Poogan's Porch was our fav!! Ben and I barely said two words as we made sure to eat every sweet and savory morsel of our friend chicken waffles with orange infused syrup. OMG.

The sweetest little bookstore downtown.
The Williams Mansion also filmed in The Notebook. (Can you guess one of my favorite movies?)
Rainbow Row!
Aw, Shucks...
Ben wanted to eat here the whole time we were in SC. The last night we stopped by for him to grab something and they had already closed. AW, SCHUCKS!!

Rooftop bars...
And dessert bars to close out the night!
The next morning, still dark, it's time to leave..
Elle and Drew spent the first few days of Spring Break in Ann Arbor with Uncle Tom and Aunt Cathy!
They saw Seabeast!
Ate lots of favorite foods!
Daily walks with Bailey and visiting the dinosaur house.
Cuddling Bailey and relaxing!
A trip to the bookstore!
Then they spent a few nights with Papa and Gma Uitti and Aunt Pam was in from the UP!
Joey and Luke...In Ft. Myers with Papa and Grandma Cooley!
They spent one day golfing at Tiger Woods Experience!

Another day with Auntie Nae and Uncle Freddy watching Boston Red Sox vs. the Atlanta Braves!

The boys spent one day with all 4 grandparents at their place!
Luke spent the last few nights just with his Papa and Gma!
Living the life.
The grands became such buddies that they sent us this pic after sending the kids back to MI, they headed out for brunch!
Welcome Home, family!

Our hearts are full.
