The Stretch: REBL, Upward, Church Camp, V Day, Harlow

REBL- Rochester Elementary Basketball League was a big success for it's 1st year! Ben dreamt it and he did it! I loved how we got to play as a school team and each game was as a different elementary school. But the most special thing to me was watching Ben and each of our kids involved and excited about being part of it. So special! Ben coached. Drew played and dominated. Luke refereed with his best buddy Aiden, and Ellie kept the time and did the scoreboard with her girls. So awesome.

Ben coached with Rob and it was tough but, they coached against Tony and Caleb and their crew.
These baseball teammates and besties versing each other on the court!

Luke and Elle would help their Dad at practices too when they could! See below them modeling a drill for the rest of the team to do.

And that brings us to Little League "tryouts". Each Rochester Little League player has a time slot where they show up and have to do different baseball skills and here is the kicker. Do you see ALL of the coaches lined up below. These little players have to execute their best in front of this whole panel of coaches one at a time on that huge gym floor by themselves!! Oh my goodness.

Ben is a coach so right in the mix of the panel.
Below Drew is up! Showing off is mad skill.
Drew is really into baseball cards right now. We have a card shop right downtown Rochester and on an open night, you will catch us there looking through the collections. :)
Just a little shout out to me as well. :) Driving and getting everyone to where they need to be. Moms get props too!!
Ellie was able to attend her first overnight church retreat by herself with her church youth group!!! These were some of my favorite memories growing up and I'm thrilled she was able to go! The bus left from our church on a Friday in February and returned that Sunday. Here are some pics I got from her weekend:

Ellie and Drew also played Upward basketball again through our church. Ben coached Drew's team and it was Ellie's last season to play. Time slow down!

Ellie's youth group buddies and her leader Ravae! Loved that Riley and Ravae showed up to cheer on our girls. 💜
Drew rocking it again this year.

I love watching his confidence continue to grow on the court!

Ben had to miss coaching a game so Luke filled in and coached with Coach Megan! (She coached Luke in Upward too)

Cousins coming to cheer is the best! And the post game snacks :)
Ben handing out the skill stars at the end of the games.
Drew gets Christ-like.

Our favorite music teacher ever, Mrs. Plotzke, retired mid-year and we are so happy for her but so sad for us!! She is the heart and soul that puts on a musical every year for our school. Luke was in Lion King and Elle in Aladdin. Mr. P reached out to have former students who were in her musicals to wear their "show shirts" and come back to celebrate her with a surprise assembly. Elle was all about it!
There were kids and a poster from every musical she directed. Such a legacy!
Ellie and her besties for a movie night.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Sweet Mom and Stan came for the bball games and to celebrate her birthday. 💕We love you so much, Mom!
Driving Luke and John to baseball practice and I look back and see this! Luke and his buddies crack me up!
Ellie decided she wanted to try out volleyball! So she participated in a 6 week camp, meeting on Sundays, with her bestie Riley.
Ben came home to this note from each of our kids. My heart.

My baseball girls.
We hosted a fundraiser for our Raptors baseball team at The Roxy downtown Rochester. We have so much fun everywhere we go!
Chad, Megs, Aunt Cathy and Uncle Tom came out to support too!

Afterwards we bar crawled through downtown. Love where you live!
Elle became a certified babysitter and certified in CPR through our Rochester Parks and Rec!
Finishing our Upward season. Looking over and seeing all 4 of my people together on the bench makes my heart so happy. Being connected into our community matters.

Luke and Drew score keeping Elle's last ever Upward game.

Our sweet girl growing up...
Ellie, you are wonderfully made, a balance of sweet and tough. You love hard and can be tough to make sure love wins.
Getting ready for the day with her face routine...
Buying something from Lululemon for the first time. (Might be her only time...)
Doing homework after school with your bestie... Loving watching you grow.
Speaking of growing up, Luke had high school orientation and oh, my heart.
Shopping at the high school bookstore for some Stoney Creek gear.
Last practice for REBL's 1st season!
In our elementary gym, both Luke and Ellie won the flag contest for their 5th grade year. Both of their flags still hang...

This was our last game and it was a nail biter! We fell just a few points short in the semi-finals for the league.

Great job, boys!!
Finally, the REBL championship game Ben hosted at Hart Middle School for the teams!
Ben refereed with buddy, Ben Wright.
(Ben Morin started REBL and Ben Wright started Rochester Raptors and they both head coach for each other's sport organizations)
We had a 50/50 to raise money for next year's REBL! Kayla, Ellie, and Avila sold the tickets walking around the stands!
Tony kept the time and scoreboard and Mr. Beers did the announcing! (He does the announcing at OU's men's basketball games as well!)
3rd grade championship first and then the 4th grade.
Caleb, Drew, Gavin, and Sylvan cheering them on!

Uncle Chad and Coach Rob showing their support.

REBL end of season celebrations!
Ellie with her favorite, Coach Sydnee.

Kayla and Ellie's final Upward game together and below their 1st season together.

Ben volunteered at the school for STEM day with Drew!
More STEM at home.

It was dress like a twin day at school. Look at these cuties in the pics I got from Ms. Cunningham!
For Drew's birthday, Uncle Tom and Aunt Cathy gifted Drew a day to be with the animals at the Ann Arbor Humane Society!
Drew resting up before his big day!

Drew loved it!

Basketball season is done which means...Spring and baseball is here!
Our Raptor family got together for fun and a scrimmage.

Celebrating Kayla on her birthday!
My friend Jackie sent me this pic. Her son Christopher, on his spelling test, had the word drew and look what he wrote next to it. LOL!

Happy, happy birthday to our favorite little St. Patty's day gal...Harlow you are 6!!
