Donuts and 4-Wheelers

We had such a FUN time up at the Farrand's cabin up north last weekend! Words can not describe how much my friendship with Kelly has meant to me over the years. It has been so fun raising our families together and watching our kids and hubbies bond into friendships that stemmed from ours years ago.
Above: Ben had taken that Friday off of work to get the Morin clan packed up and ready to go! However, that morning on the way to get the oil changed they squeezed sometime in for a trip to the donut shop. The fam picked me up right from work and we were on our way!
One of our favorite families...with Rick, Kelly, and Addi Beagle.

The Beagles are living in Georgia right now and so unfortunately we don't get to see them a lot...maybe twice a year BUT our kiddos hit it off right away again...

Getting toasty in front of the fire...
Running in circles, playing "snakes", and tackling each other on the beds...
Ellie getting in on the fun too!
Uncle Ben was a big hit once again. :) Addi wanted Uncle Ben all weekend long. All stories were to be told from him.
Coloring pumpkins....
Playing outdoors in the rain...
Exploring the tepee...

Swinging together...
And a highlight for everybody was 4-wheeling all over the property!
Luke loved it and Ellie was just along for the ride but I'm pretty sure Ben loved it most of all!

Looking at the lake...This was after they just told us they saw bears earlier that week around this spot. I was pretty much ready to jump back on the 4-wheeler!
Elle is all smiles with her Daddy...
Exploring the century old cabin. Luke was so nervous I was going to fall in. My 3 year old son already has me pegged, what the heck?!

Roasting marshmellows...
S'mores...
Girl time.
Addi being such a sweet girl sharing her iPAD and toys all weekend long!
The 1st "non-Farrand" baby to grace the 'ol bath in the kitchen sink routine.
 Beautiful weather!
Sweeties.
24 years later...

Luke's First Preschool Field Trip...Yates Cider Mill!

Luke had been so excited for this field trip! Jacque and Luke make a monthly calendar together each month with all that she has planned for the 2 of them. Luke would check his calendar each day to see how many more days until the cider mill. However, the day before Mr. Todd (preschool teacher) was talking to the class about the bees and how to act around them because sometimes there a lot around with all of the apples and cider. Luke seemed so excited all night for the field trip until right before bed when I was tucking him in he said, " Mom, my tummy feels funny." I tried to figure out why and then I asked him how he felt about tomorrow's field trip and that's when he said he was nervous about a bee stinging him and he was also curious if the bus could tip over just like the bus does on Daddy's video game. Poor guy. We went through it all...he finally fell asleep...and now he can't wait for his next field trip. :)

Jacque dropped Luke off at NC3 so he could ride the big school bus for the first time with all of his friends. He LOVED getting on the big bus. J then took Ellie up to the cider mill to wait until the bus got there.
Ellie is waiting patiently and then here they come!
Luke with his class! I thought it was cool that they had shut the cider mill down to the rest of the public because usually that place is hoppin'.
Listening to the demo on how to make that yummy cider.

Luke waiting in line for a taste of that cider and a donut!
BEST nanny on Earth. We love our J!
 The kids enjoying it.
 Best buddy Ayrton.

Checking out the animals. Poor Ellie...she absolutely LOVES animals. Like, I mean obsessed. She saw a dog in our neighbor's yard like twice in the past year and every time she gets in her high chair she points outside and says, " Woof, Woof," in her sweet high pitched voice. I hate to break it to her that this fish Benny is about it for this family.
She kept going to the animals for a closer look.
Nature walk through the apple orchard!
Ben and Mr. Joe took the kids to the open Piston practice last Saturday at the Palace! Grandma Cooley ended up stopping by too and then off to Hoops afterwards for lunch!
After we got home from church on Saturday these 2 just couldn't get enough of each other.
