Shower of Love and Mom Flying Solo

We celebrated Auntie Megs and Uncle Chaddy at their wedding shower a few weekends ago in Brighton. It was absolutely beautiful and everyone worked so hard to pull it off just perfect because everyone loves these two so very much!! We are thrilled to be able to cheer them on as they make their commitment to one another as husband and wife.
I mean, really?? Can these two be any cute??!

Everyone took off. We have had a full house for a long time and everyone splits at the same time. Ben is off to Park City, Utah for a work conference and Mom and Dad Cooley are out of here on their trip out East to the Jersey Shore and to see Dad's old Coast Guard base. For 5 nights and 6 days by ourselves...AND the 4 of us rocked it while everyone was gone!! We had so much and every day was packed with fun things. Our kiddos were such good listeners and I am so thankful that these three are ours!!
Day #1: Neighbor kiddos over for bike riding, basketball, and chocolate chip pancakes for dinner!

Day #2: Luke had his best buddy from school over, Jackson!
Drew already loves all thing balls and sports. He already is wanting and pleading to play with his big brother!!
Drew knows his big sister is just as cool!

Day # 3: Writing Pen Pals to our best buds, Carson and Laney, over in Grand Rapids! Then off to the library for the summer reading program where Luke received his next award for reading 600 minutes! Go, Luke, Go!

Drew's favorite breakfast? Waffles and syrup!
Luke got all of his beginning reader books that his kindergarten teacher had sent home on a daily basis at the beginning of the school year. He read each one and told me he was "studying" to get ready for first grade. He made a sign with the first grade teachers names on it too. :) Geez, I love this kid.
Drew is still just sweet as can be!!! So, he really digs brushing his teeth. He loves it! About 3 months ago, he began standing on the stool dipping his toothbrush under the running water to brush his teeth. Such a big boy!
Our two bedrooms have changes so much. First, a boy nursery and a study. Then a boy's room and a girl's nursery. Next, a shared bedroom for both Luke and Elle and a boy nursery once again. And finally, the boys have their own room and the nursery is no longer but it's all Elle's. I wanted to remember this stage so I captured their new rooms! We have no plans on changing again!! Phew.

We finished reading the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today and the kids decided they wanted to leave the mailman a Gatorade and note on this very hot day.

Day 4: Off to the Kolody's in Clarkston for a day at their lake! We had so much fun but have no pics. :(

Day: 5 Lilah's birthday party and Jacque comes over for a visit!

Ellie and her bestie from "church school" Lilah!
Our very favorite Jacque came all the way down to hang out with us for a night! We love her so much! She is a part of the fam.
Day 6: Mom and Dad surprised us and came back a little early! Here Gma is teaching the kids about Hershey world and how they make chocolate. On this topic, she had very attentive listeners!

Everyone is home now safe and sound. I am so grateful for my time with just my children however, I am so thankful I have my husband and small tribe that pours love into them. Thank you!
