Ending the School Year of...Didn't see that coming!

A lot of our "normal" day to day things have changed....Where we put our jackets now holds our masks. When we are leaving the house our list of reminders have expanded. " Do you have your shoes on? Water bottle? Mask?"

But the cuddles and love remain the same. We are so lucky these three have each other. They play. They share. They fight. They laugh, They annoy. All of the important things that kids must learn to navigate and enjoy.

Aunt Nae got me this indoor garden for Christmas and it took a pandemic for me to become a gardener but here are our herbs and I LOVE having it!! Homemade weekly pesto sauce each for the win! YUM!!
Bros.
We are so grateful to have the park next to us but especially during this time. We spend so much time hiking the trails, biking the paths, just being outside. One of the kids favorite things is to go to the pond area and catch frogs and toads. Meet "Hopper" below.
Having Harlow right around the corner is pretty perfect too!

We had fun over Memorial Day weekend grilling out!

Ms. Pas, Luke's 4th grade teacher, stopping by because she is just awesome like that. Chatting through the storm door. 💙

This was the 1st time we went to the cottage over Memorial Day weekend and let me just say...Let's move to the cottage!! It is the best.
Puzzle Masters 1 and 2.
Smore's, inside in the microwave. :)
The jumbo marshmallows are no joke!
Even though it was still a bit nippy, these brave souls all made it in!
Look how beautiful.

Lots of puzzles, Legos, reading, Harry Potter Clue, and coloring the USA tablecloth...

Ellie lost another tooth!
Kids set up a mini golf course while we relaxed!
Lake Huron, we love you.

When we got home, surprises and gifts had been delivered from Luke and Elle's small group leaders from church! Are these lucky kiddos or what?!

Elle having her last Zoom class meeting with her 2nd grade class...
She published her passion project at their writing celebration. Her passion project was telling the stories of our family trips together...
Look at all of those small moments she captured!
We were all invited to Elle's end of the year award ceremony. Her teacher asked us to get dressed up have a juice drink to toast, and over Zoom gave each of her students an award. Ellie got...

Future President!
Our kids despite everything, really had such a great school year. Their teachers stopped by visits, met one-on-one with them for Zoom sessions, sent letters, delivered gifts, had class movie nights over Netflix, hosted Bingo bashes, and made this year as special as could be. We love you Ms. Pas, Ms. McConachie, and NC3P!

School is out!!! Summer break is here! WAHOO! Culver's at the park for this fam!

Our first morning we took a family bike ride to downtown Rochester. We didn't realize we would be part of a BLM protest. We watched and we listened. When we got home, we had an important talk with our children. Black Lives Matter.

After the protest, we kept riding to the river...

And then back home to R&R. Bring on summer baby!!!

Happy Mother's Day 2020

I am the luckiest. My 4 lovebugs surprised me with the BEST breakfast eva...After a morning to myself to go out and run. Look at that plate! Fresh omelet, bacon, grilled potatoes and a cinnamon bun! Ben, you the best babe. Happy Mother's Day to Mom Cooley and Mom Uitti for loving on us and raising us right!!

We celebrated all day quarantine style and this crew made me feel so special. Mom and Dad gifted us with delivery from Chipoltle! I love Mexican food! All food, really.

Our kiddos had me stay upstairs as they surprised me with a decorated basement filled with a DJ station on the keyboard, coloring and drawings hanging from the ceiling, a dessert table (All made my themselves. My favorite dessert was Ritz crackers topped with PB and chocolate chips!), dance party, and limbo! We had SO much fun dancing!!

Ben showing all he's got in our Limbo competition!
Oh, and they had a punch bowl table. Gatorade and Sprite. :)
You three. You have my heart forever. You are the sweetest and most loving people to make me feel loved and celebrated not only today but everyday. I love you Luke, Elle, and Drew.
We also were so grateful to celebrate Mom/Gma Uitti!! We love you so much, Mom!! We were happy to see them outside and social distanced of course. What a fun time celebrating with pizza, sidewalk chalk and a lotta love!
