Basketball, Christmas again, Snow Days, LAST Daddy Daughter Dance, Elle wins Science Fair!, Fun at Dad's Job, and Life in Between!

Luke finished his 7th grade Hart basketball season! This kiddo played with heart and loved being with the boys, staying after school for practice, the whole thing. He played the 3rd string the whole season. (The team had 3 full strings and played them one full period each game. The last 2 periods, Coach would play mostly the first string.) Luke learned a ton! He was one of the only guys to make the team that had never played travel. He showed up and played tough every practice and game. He learned the plays, the signals, the calls...This was a whole new world for him. Luke, we are so proud of you! Your determination and willingness to be a learner on your team. Your understanding and sportsmanship that the team always comes first. Luke's highlights were his all-star defense (at times diving for the ball) and his 3-point shot!

The boys went undefeated!
The last game was canceled due to a snow day...We were all bummed! But they rescheduled their banquet with Coach (who teaches at SCHS) after school!

Elle's team, The Lynx!
Back Row: Coach Mike, Hannah, Liv, Samantha, Kayla, Coach Sydney
Front Row: Nicole, Ellie πŸ’œ, Katelyn

The sweetest scorekeeper ever.
Elle is tiny and a BEAST on the court!! She is a star point guard, dribbling with both hands and around her back around all the players! She had about two baskets a game and scored a total of about 28 points! (with lots of picks and passes!)

We love the basketball part of this program but even better is the amazing faith community that wraps that hearts around our kids. Coach Sydney loves our Elle so much. Elle talked about getting baptized with Coach during their practice they have a Bible Study time. Sydney brought the baptism paperwork to us and we've been praying and talking about it with Elle! It's her decision and it's an important one. She gifted Elle a prayer journal, that Ellie writes in each night.
Coach Megan and Coach Ben with the Panthers!
Coach Megan coached Luke all the way through this program (and came to one of his middle school games this year!) and now she is in it to coach Drew trough the program as well. We love her!
Back Row: Coach Megan, Evan, Dylan, Sean, Sheho, David, Coach Ben
Front Row: James, Enzo, Jaus, Caleb, DrewπŸ’™
Drew LOVES playing ball and he is a baller! It is the benefit of being the baby and being raised with older sibs who play sports.

Each night before a game, this is what Drew does ON HIS OWN to be game ready in the morning. I mean this kid...If I could bottle it up and spread it around...
Drew is the star point guard and dribbles, passes, and scores like it's his J-O-B. Watch this baller in one of his games get to it.

After each game, the teams go back to the "garage" to debrief and hand out a star to every player for something awesome they did during the game. And, of course for snacks.
The girls over for the day after their game.

The next weekend, Papa and Gam came! We went to Panera between games to celebrate Gma and her birthday!
It's never too late to celebrate Christmas! This year Mom and Stan were hosting but both got sick with Covid. This is two years in a row for us! Last year it was me who had it and we had to cancel. No biggie! Just makes the holidays last longer!

Cousin table!

Snow days! Cars and sledding for these two. Luke was somewhere with his buddies.

Snow football!
Drew brought home all of his writing and read each one to us.

Getting ready for Super Bowl Sunday... This year we had Zelinkskis and Cosbeys over!
Drew is still loving football.
My heart. Our last Daddy Daughter Dance πŸ’—

Ellies with Hailey and Avila...
And Isabelly, Ophelie and Ameila.
Out for hot cocoa at Ram's Horn after the dance!
Back at home, I had the boys doing different Minute to Win It games.

The concentration was real.

Crumbl Cookie!
Happy Valentine's Day!!
Boxes for school are made. Check. Valentines filled out. Check.

Poems and gifts for our sweet Valentines.

Elle and Riley partnered together to do the McG Science Fair! They were inquiring into what goes faster on grass? On turf? Tennis shoes or cleats?

Ben took them to conduct various trials with grass vs. turf.

I took them to the library to research all about friction.

The Science Fair!

Mr. P, their principal, had lots of questions for them!

Presenting their findings with the judges!

AND Ellie and Riley took home 1st PLACE for this year's Science Fair!!!
Ben hosted a STEM event on President's Day for kids throughout our County. Our kids went along to help Dad out and have some fun!

Our Rochester Raptors practice on Mondays and one day on the weekend for their Spring training.
All of the normal, everyday moments, that fall in between.

Luke on homework with his Math class.
Movie night.
Laying low.
Sunday morning Church.
These two on dish patrol.
I've been jotting things I'm grateful for on our bathroom mirror. I didn't say anything about it and just started doing it. It's funny how gratitude spreads. Ben and the kids started commenting on the mirror too. Before we went to bed one night, Luke had left this on our mirror. He didn't say anything either and just wrote it, all on his own. When life is abundant and crazy, these moments center me and remind me of the many gifts we are blessed to have.
