Baseball Trip and Thomas the Train!

The boys trip...Told through Ben's voice. He's not a talker. :)
Dad and Luke - starting off their Morin Baseball Journey - Friday, Aug 17, 2018 at their annual summer trip to to the doughnut shop.

1st Stop - Cincinnati, OH - Great American Ball Park - Home of the Reds (first Major League Baseball team)

30 ft Louisville Bats in the Gift Shop

Mr. Red Legs!  If you wanna keep a girl you must have a mustache!!

Luke and Dad playing ball outside the park before the game.

Luke getting ready for some batting practice on minifield - on the concourse area inside the stadium.

A great view from their seats!

It was a walk off win for the Reds!! Luke is wearing a Cincinatti shirt from Aunt Cathy and Uncle Tom.  He is also a member of the Reds - the fall ball team he is on.

Always great to end with fireworks after the game!

The best hitting catcher of all time..Johnny Bench #5 (Just happens to be Luke's number this fall)

The next morning.  Dad and Luke slept in the van, in Fresh Thyme parking lot.

Lucky Charms and Gatorade.  Breakfast of Champions in a near by park before heading up to Cleveland, OH.

They saw the Indians play the Orioles.  They were rooting for the Orioles and wore their Tigers hat to this game!  The Orioles (38-72) at the time beat the first place Indians on Jim Thome day.

What a grab by the left fielder...#14 Luke Morin!

6.84 Seconds...90 ft...Home to First Base

Taking some batting practice before the game in the Kids Zone.

Progressive Field was very steep.

Luke and Ben made it done to the first row right next to the Orioles bench for the 8th and 9th innings.  So awesome to be so close.

Morning of Day 3 - Last nights accommodations....a Walmart Parking lot just outside of Pittsburgh.

This young buck is cut out for life on the road...

Luke is journaling thoughts and moments from Day 2 in Cleveland.

Biking around Pittsburgh before the game.

Pittsburgh Point State Park

Honus Wagner Statue outside PNC Park....home of the Pittsburgh Pirates

We got corner seats right on the field for this game!

Let's Go Bucks

Luke got a T-Shirt thrown to him

Taking it all in

We had to leave the game after the 9th inning with the score tied 2-2 against the Cubs so that we could make it to the Wanderfall Guest House and Hostel in Niagara Falls by 9pm.  We made it by 8:59pm. We listened to the game on the radio...another walk off home run.  Pirates win 4-2!
We had the four person bedroom to ourselves which was great.

Went went over to Canada at around 10pm to take a ride on the big sky wheel that gave us great views of the falls.

We also played some putt putt.  This one was tied up after 18 holes and we had to do a playoff hole.  The course actually had sand features.  Ben got caught up in the sand and Luke won by a stroke!

The next morning (start of day 4).  All you can eat pancake breakfast at the Hostel.  We ate with two young traveling couples. One couple was from Paris, the other from Italy.

Outside view of Wanderfall Guesthouse and Hostel..wonderful place.

View of the falls from American side.

Luke was a real adventurist.  He wanted to feel the mist of the falls..so we ended up biking across the Rainbow Bridge to into Canada.  We got to go through Customs on our bikes also.

We left Niagara Falls in the late afternoon to be able to get to our final baseball game in the evening at Rogers Center..home of the Toronto Bluejays

Really strange feel in this ballpark.  This is Luke walking up to our section area.  Looks like an underground parking lot

A view from our seats.  Great game.  Bluejays won.  Luke bought us ice cream on the way back to our car and we stayed at a traditional hotel just outside of Toronto for our final night.  ESPN, Swimming and hotel breakfast buffet the next morning before making our way back home.  What an experience.

Meanwhile...Uncle Tom and Aunt Cathy surprised Drew with his "Day of Fun" from Christmas by taking him and Ellie to Huckleberry Railroad to meet and ride Thomas the Train!
" All aboard!"

Two peas in a pod...

" Making Tracks to GREAT Destinations"
(I've watched this show just a little bit.)

Bonus! Bob the Builder was there too! Luke was always scared of these guys whenever we were at a special event. He would always approach cautiously and sometimes hover behind Ellie, who was bopping up to meet every character! She still loves it!

Thank you, Uncle Tom and Aunt Cathy for another fun adventure!
This.
This picture was taken once Luke and Ben arrived home. Luke missed us so much, it was so sweet. AND we missed our guys! These 3 were so excited to be reunited they stayed like this on the couch for awhile soaking it all up.
