Dad/Papa Morin's 25th Year of Passing

On the way back from Luke's tourney in Grand Rapids (see previous post) we stopped in Howell to celebrate Ben's Dad, who passed 25 years to that date. Ben and Megs worked so hard to make sure the day was full of memories and fun!

We started the day by meeting in their old neighborhood.
We then headed over to the park in Howell. We swam at the beach, hung out for the day, and had a BBQ for dinner!

Afterwards, we went over to the cemetery (right at the same lake) where we had Dad's favorite dessert-hot fudge brownie ice cream sundae!

Ben actually packed up our TV and DVD player and we watched a special video that Ben had made the family. It was full of pictures and video clips of their family growing up. So, so special.

To end the night, we had a " candle lighting" where we listened to Dad's favorite songs.

I never had the chance to meet Dad Morin but I know someday our kids and I will! Until then, he has left a beautiful legacy for me to love.

Homestretch to Summer 2021

Mother's Day with these sweet, little cutie pies...I am the luckiest. You are each so wonderfully and uniquely made. It keeps this Mama on her toes but with a heart full of love and lots of laughs (gotta keep laughing!).

We swept up Harlow and took her to Elle's soccer game with us!
This is the cheer squad for the Michigan Elite! Aka: All of the little bros and sisters who come out to cheer on their big bro!
Aunt Cathy and Uncle Tom surprised Luke with a day of shopping as his birthday gift. Luke had the BEST day with Aunt Cathy! They shopped until they dropped! Luke was so excited to get his OWN clubs!

Our friends, Tony and Jodie, invited us to a Tiger's game. Not only was this our first big even since the pandemic to go out as a family BUT we were invited to Tony's work's suite for the game!
We parked right in the garage, got escorted to our own room, and realized what a treat it is to live large at Comerica Park in a suite!

Even though the Tiger's lost, the kids had so much FUN!

On one of the last Fridays before summer break, Oxford had a half day and Rochester was in school for a full day. So Ben and I drove their bikes up to school, then rode our bikes there too, and surprised them at the end of the day! We all left school on bikes to go all around Rochester and for dinner at Lipuma's Hotdogs. It's feeling like SUMMER!
Luke has been such a champ. He completed 6 weeks of physical therapy, with many of the sessions being at 6:30 am before school started. He is now done!
While Luke was at a double-header, the rest of us were able to go over to Aunt Jan's to see some of our Cooley family! This is the 1st time we have gathered since COVID and it felt so good.

We introduced the family to Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza!
Narwhal! Jeff, You are clearly out.
Drew was awarded the Captain medal for his team at this baseball game! Drew LOVES being on his baseball team. He LOVES it! He loves it so much, and so does his Dad, that they created a Friday night practice where all the kids and families come out to play. Drew, keep it up big guy! You have everyone talking about your swing and "big hitter" at each game you play!
Elle rocked it at soccer again this season! Ben has LOVED coaching Elle however, this is her last season playing rec....Because she made the Magic Travel team!!! Elle tried out under the same Magic program that Luke plays in. During tryouts, her team won the scrimmage 3-1, and Elle made all 3 shots for the team! Ellie, you are so strong and mighty!! Get it, girl.

With Ben coaching Ellie's last soccer game and coaching Drew's baseball team, I was lucky to have Luke ALL to myself for his tourney in Grand Rapids! Thinking about it, I really can't remember a time where I had Luke ALL to myself for an entire weekend. This was such a treat.
We left 6 am on Saturday ( I just couldn't leave Friday night after a long, long week of work) and started right in with a 10 am game in Grand Rapids. Lots of heat, sweat, and baseball fun for the day!
That night we headed over to Uncle B's and Aunt Mol's to crash for the night. We had a blast catching up...I didn't want to go to bed. But we had to...545 wake up time to be on the road by 615 for the next day of games. Seriously...Who am I??! I am still adjusting to this whole baseball mom life.
Little Rosie loving me...
Luke teaching Benny some bball tricks.
These boys made it to the final Championship game! Although they didn't win, we were so proud of them for earning 2nd place! They played hard!!
Luke is on the left, in his sunnies, for the medal ceremony.

Go, Elite!!
